This procedure takes from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

In many cases, depending on the procedure, you will receive general anesthesia.

Your procedure is usually done on an outpatient basis but you may elect to spend the night at Comfort Cottage with a nurse available to help you.

Temporary side effects of facial implants are discomfort, swelling, bruising, numbness and stiffness.

There are inherent risks with all surgical procedures. Those associated with facial implants are shifting or imprecise positioning of the implant, possible infection or excess tightening and hardening of scar tissue.

You should be able to return to a relatively normal routine in about 1 week and have a normal appearance in 2 to 4 weeks.

Your facial implant procedure should be permanent.
