One of the most often asked questions of our staff is, “What is the one thing I can do that makes the most difference?” The answer our staff gives most often is, the eyes, also known a Blepharoplasy or Eyelid Lift.
A Blepharoplasty can help with loose or sagging skin, excess skin that may impair vision, excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness, bags under the eyes, droopiness of lower eyelids, and excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid. All these conditions can produce an appearance that some patients describe as making me look mad, sad, old, or the dreaded “I look like my mother(or father, grandparent, other relative or friend with heavy, droopy eyelids)!
The solution is a procedure that usually takes about 1.5 hours. Can be done here at our AAAHC Certified surgical facility and you are able to go home afterwards, with recuperation taking about 1- 2 weeks. According to Dr. Willard, “Blepharoplasties are great procedures to freshen the face.”
Eyelid surgery is one of the procedures that many patients think is covered by insurance. This may be the case for some upper eyelid surgery if the patient has a documented visual field test that shows a deformity or obstruction. Insurance coverage will also depend on the plan provisions, deductible, and copays. Lower eyelid surgery is not covered by insurance.
