Wise Words from Dr. Willard
 Hormone Balance:  You may not be aware, but part of my practice is helping men and women, mostly postmenopause or andropause (the man part) with hormone replacement.  It is a very rewarding part of the practice.  For years I had patients come to me after surgery and relate the following statement, “Dr. Willard, you have me looking great on the outside, but I feel horrible on the inside!”  I knew what was going on and undertook several years of training to learn the ins and outs of safe hormone replacement.  If you think you might benefit in treatment of thinning hair, weight gain, lack of libido, less strength—let me know and we’ll spend some time evaluating your situation.
The ProNox system delivering laughing gas to help with painful parts of some procedures where you just don’t want to go under anesthesia continues to be a highlight here at Piedmont Plastic Surgery.  I’ve mostly used this for liposuction, but our facelift and blepharoplasty (eyelid lifts) patients have also found this to be of great value.  Ask about it!

Skin Cancer Awareness Month
 May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. UV exposure is the most preventable risk factor for skin cancer. During Skin Cancer Awareness Month, the American Academy of Dermatology is asking “Do You Use Protection?” and is encouraging you to practice safe sun every time you are outdoors and Dr. Willard does too. Wear your sunscreen anytime you are going to be outside even if it is a cloudy day. UV exposure is the most preventable risk factor for skin cancer. We encourage you to practice safe sun whenever you are outdoors. Please seek shade, wear protective clothing, and use a broad-spectrum, water resistant sunscreen with SPF 30+ to reduce your risk.  Dr. Willard removes various forms of skin cancer every week and stresses the importance of checking yourself for lesions and moles on a regular basis and let us know if something changes or concerns you. In honor of Skin Cancer Awareness Month we are offering 20% off any of our sunscreens at Saving Face. Offer good through 5/31/2019.
